Summary: Blending normal molecular weight polyethylene (NMW-PE) with ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) in varying ratios affects the stress values and hardening rates during melt-drawing, indicating a reduction in molecular entanglements and accelerated disentanglement. Additionally, the appearance of arc-shaped orthorhombic reflections during cooling suggests induced thin formation of extended crystal chains and subsequent formation of homogeneous lamellae structures.
