Unified mathematical model of the kinetics of nanoparticle phase condensation in magnetic fields

Pavel Kuzhir et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a unified mathematical model for the kinetics of magnetic nanoparticles phase condensation under homogeneous permanent or alternating magnetic field. The model presents relationships among aggregate growth rate, size distribution, and average volume, applicable to various magnetic field conditions.

Colloidal Stability and Concentration Effects on Nanoparticle Heat Delivery for Magnetic Fluid Hyperthermia

Vanessa Pilati et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the production of bimagnetic core@shell NPs and the use of the electric double layer (EDL) as a strategy to maintain colloidal stability in aqueous ferrofluids. By adjusting the ion/counterion ratio and controlling the water content, ultrastable concentrated ferrofluids were achieved. The influence of colloidal stability on the heating response of ferrofluids was investigated by studying different levels of nanoparticle clustering achieved through changing ionic force and medium pH.

Adsorption of Organic Dyes on Magnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles. Part I: Mechanisms and Adsorption-Induced Nanoparticle Agglomeration

Delphine Talbot et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of organic dye adsorption on the surface of nanoparticles on primary and secondary agglomeration, with the main findings being that dye adsorption is largely driven by electrostatic interactions and is sensitive to pH and ionic strength variations. The primary agglomeration of nanoparticles may result from interactions between adsorbed dye molecules. In terms of application, citrated nanoparticles show promise for water treatment with good reusability, maintaining an adsorption efficiency of around 99% after nine cycles.
