The reaction of Zn(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O, 2-iodobenzoic acid (2-IBA), and 4-ethyl- or 3-chloropyridine results in the formation of binuclear neutral complexes [Zn-2(2-IBA)(4)L-2] (L = 3-ClPy (1), 4-EtPy (2)), with specific noncovalent interactions in the structure of 2.
Reactions of Zn(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O, 2-iodobenzoic acid (2-IBA), and 4-ethyl- or 3-chloropyridine result in the formation of binuclear neutral complexes [Zn-2(2-IBA)(4)L-2] (L = 3-ClPy (1), 4-EtPy (2)) whose structures are analyzed by X-ray crystallography. The structure of 2 has specific noncovalent IMIDLINE HORIZONTAL ELLIPSISI interactions.
