Growth and thermal stability studies of layered GaTe single crystals in inert atmospheres

Summary: The study found that GaTe single crystals exhibit good thermal stability in inert atmospheres, especially in N2 atmosphere. The structural and optical properties of GaTe remain almost intact at different annealing temperatures. Additionally, the photoluminescence intensity increases with annealing temperature, reaches a peak, and then decreases due to vacancies induced by tellurium evaporation at high temperatures.
