Optimization of zero-shear viscosity for HPAM-Polystyrene microspheres formulations through experimental design approach

Seif El Islam Lebouachera et al.

Summary: The study focused on the reinforcing effects of polystyrene microspheres in a hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) matrix, optimizing the rheological behavior of the HPAM polymer by considering the size of the microspheres, their concentration, and test temperature. The results indicated that the size of the microspheres and test temperature were the most influential factors, with the optimal zero-shear viscosity predicted at 20°C, with a microspheres concentration of 50 ppm and size of 1000 nm, showing close agreement between predicted and experimental results using the RSM method.
