Numerical investigation of thermo-hydrodynamic performance of triangular pin fin heat sink using nano-fluids

V Saravanan et al.

Summary: Cooling of miniaturized electronic components is essential for enhancing their reliability, performance, and lifespan. This paper presents a numerical study on the flow and heat transfer characteristics of a three-dimensional heat sink with triangular pin fin using water and ethylene glycol as base fluids, with the addition of nanoparticles. The use of nanofluids enhances heat dissipation rate, but slightly affects the performance index compared to base fluids.

Natural convection heat transfer using water-based nanofluid in a shell and helical coil heat exchanger

T. Srinivas et al.

Summary: In this study, water-based nanofluids were used to enhance heat transfer in a shell and helical coil heat exchanger. The addition of nanoparticles to water resulted in higher thermal conductivity and increased heat transfer coefficient. As the nanoparticle concentration, Dean number, and coil-side fluid feed temperature increased, the Nusselt number and Rayleigh number also increased.
