A neutral heteroleptic binuclear complex fac-[{Mn(CO)(3)(Py')}(2)(L)] with Mn center dot center dot center dot Mn separation of similar to 13.5 angstrom was synthesized using Mn-2(CO)(10), H-2-L, Py', and Me3NO via one-pot approach. Complex 1 adopts a helical structure in the solid-state.
