In this study, a novel Ag(I)-catalyzed cascade reaction involving enynone cyclization and cross-coupling with phosphorus ylides was achieved for the first time. Subsequent treatment with I-2 led to the formation of corresponding (E)-alpha-alkenylfurans in 73-95% yields with excellent stereoselectivity. A reasonable mechanism has been proposed for the reaction process.
Ag(I)-catalyzed cascade reactions involving enynone cyclization and cross-coupling with phosphorus ylides have been achieved for the first time.
