Microstructural and magnetic properties of core-shell FeSiAl composites with Ni0.4Zn0.45Co0.15Fe2O4 layer by sol-gel method

Summary: FeSiAl/Ni0.4Zn0.45Co0.15Fe2O4 ferrite core-shell particles and cylindrical magnetic cores were synthesized by sol-gel auto-combustion method. The research focused on the reaction, surface morphology, and magnetic properties of these materials, with the results showing three stages to form ferrite and successful preparation of spinel ferrites with a homogeneous and porous structure. The maximum permeability was found to be 41 at 6 wt% ferrite, while Ms decreased with increasing ferrite content.
