Synergetic effect of Sn doped ZnO nanoparticles synthesized via ultrasonication technique and its photocatalytic and antibacterial activity

Steplinpaulselvin Selvinsimpson et al.

Summary: The photocatalytic and antibacterial performance of tin doped zinc oxide nanoparticles synthesized via ultrasonic aided co-precipitation technique were investigated. The increase in dopant concentration led to changes in crystal structure and optical properties. Specifically, 5% Sn doped ZnO nanoparticles showed enhanced dye elimination rate and antibacterial activity compared to 3% Sn doped ZnO.

Shape selective flower-like ZnO nanostructures prepared via structure-directing reagent free methods for efficient photocatalytic performance

Abinash Das et al.

Summary: Different morphologies of ZnO nanoflowers, including sea urchin, rose, and southern cone marigold flower, were successfully synthesized by controlling the growth direction during the synthesis process. Among these, the sea urchin morphology exhibited the best photocatalytic performance. The high aspect ratio flower-like structure facilitated the effective separation and transportation of photogenerated charge carriers, thus serving as a significant advantage in optimizing the best performing ZnO nanoflower.

rGO supported g-C3N4/CoFe2O4 heterojunction: Visible-light-active photocatalyst for effective utilization of H2O2 to organic pollutant degradation and OH• radicals production

Baskaran Palanivel et al.

Summary: The construction of visible-light active photocatalyst with robust stability and efficient activity towards organic pollutant degradation remains a focus in the research of photocatalytic environmental remediation. A successfully prepared rGO supported g-C3N4/CoFe2O4 heterojunction showed superior photocatalytic activity, inhibiting electron-hole recombination and utilizing chemical oxidant for radical production and pollutant degradation. This ternary nanocomposite demonstrated extraordinary degradation activity and recycle stability, making it a promising photocatalyst for environmental applications.
