Global incidence of bronchopulmonary dysplasia among extremely preterm infants: a systematic literature review

Csaba Siffel et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the global incidence of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) among extremely preterm infants, including 103 eligible studies which showed a wide range of BPD incidence globally due to differences in gestational age, birth weight, and survival rates. Further research on factors beyond low gestational age affecting BPD incidence may help identify modifiable risks.
