Factors Associated with Self-regulation in a Nationally Representative Sample of Children Ages 3-5 Years: United States, 2016

Angelika H. Claussen et al.

Summary: The majority of children aged 3-5 were described by their parents as having normal self-regulation development. These children were more likely to live in advantageous environments, experience less family adversity, and have positive health and development indicators compared to children with abnormal self-regulation development. However, there was a lack of developmental surveillance and services for children not on track with self-regulation.
