Illumina Sequencing and Metabolomics Analysis Reveal Thiamine Modulation of Ruminal Microbiota and Metabolome Characteristics in Goats Fed a High-Concentrate Diet

Yi Ma et al.

Summary: Long-term supplementation of a high-concentrate diet disrupts the microbial community in goat rumen, while adding thiamine to the diet can increase the pH and decrease lactate concentration. Thiamine supplementation alters the ruminal bacterial community structure and metabolite levels, promoting a more balanced rumen environment and reducing inflammation.

Metagenomic Insight: Dietary Thiamine Supplementation Promoted the Growth of Carbohydrate-Associated Microorganisms and Enzymes in the Rumen of Saanen Goats Fed High-Concentrate Diets

Ying Zhang et al.

Summary: Thiamine supplementation has significant effects on carbohydrate-associated microorganisms and enzymes in the rumen of goats under subacute ruminal acidosis conditions, including increasing the abundance of fiber-related microorganisms and enzymes involved in fiber and starch degradation.

Thiamine Alleviates High-Concentrate-Diet-Induced Oxidative Stress, Apoptosis, and Protects the Rumen Epithelial Barrier Function in Goats

Yi Ma et al.

Summary: This study found that dietary thiamine supplementation can significantly increase antioxidant capacity in plasma and rumen epithelium of goats, reduce apoptosis index, decrease cell membrane permeability and electrophysiology parameters, and increase the expression of tight junction proteins. Thiamine also alleviated the damage on the ruminal epithelium caused by high-concentrate diets by regulating the Nrf2-NF kappa B signaling pathways.
