Damage-control steel frames equipped with SMA connections and ductile links subjected to near-field earthquake motions: A spectral energy factor model

Summary: An innovative damage-control steel frame equipped with SMA connections and ductile links was proposed to achieve a delicate balance between self-centring behavior and energy dissipation. The study focused on the spectral energy factor under near-field earthquake motions, analyzing the probabilistic characteristics of the energy factors and developing a spectral energy factor model using lognormal distribution. Nonlinear regression analyses confirmed the adequacy of the proposed model and its application in evaluating structural damage-control behavior under near-field earthquake motions.
