In situ synthesis of NiO@Ni micro/nanostructures as supercapacitor electrodes based on femtosecond laser adjusted electrochemical anodization

Suocheng Wang et al.

Summary: By controlling the processing conditions of femtosecond laser, various patterns can be formed on the surface of nickel sheet to promote the in-situ growth of NiO, resulting in a supercapacitor electrode with superior specific capacitance compared to the NiO/Ni electrode prepared solely by electrochemical anodization. The femtosecond laser enhanced electrochemical anodization method shows promise for the fabrication of high-performance supercapacitor electrodes.

Hydrothermal synthesis of CuS nanochips and their nanohybrids with CNTs for electrochemical energy storage applications

Humera Sabeeh et al.

Summary: Nanostructured carbonaceous materials, such as CNTs, graphene, and activated carbon, exhibit excellent conductivity and larger surface area, which can significantly enhance the electrochemical performance of transition metals based pseudocapacitive materials. The study successfully prepared copper sulfide nanochips via the hydrothermal method and improved their electrical conductivity and capacitive properties by forming nanohybrids with conductive CNTs. The nanohybrid sample demonstrated enhanced capacitive ability, gravimetric capacitance, and cyclic-aptitude compared to the pristine cobalt sulfide sample, showing great potential for practical application in next-generation electrochemical devices.
