Low-Scaling GW with Benchmark Accuracy and Application to Phosphorene Nanosheets

Jan Wilhelm et al.

Summary: GW is an accurate method for computing electron addition and removal energies, but its conventional implementation has high computational cost, limiting its application to many systems. A low-scaling GW algorithm with improved accuracy was presented, demonstrating strong size-dependent variation in the fundamental gap of phosphorene nanosheets when applied.

Beryllium and Magnesium Metal Clusters: New Globally Stable Structures and G0W0 Calculations

Sunila Bakhsh et al.

Summary: In this study, a two-step approach was used to investigate the structural and electronic properties of beryllium and magnesium clusters. New globally lowest-energy isomer structures were identified, and it was found that van der Waals interactions have a stronger influence on magnesium clusters. A close relationship between structural stability and chemical hardness was revealed for both types of clusters through a second-difference analysis of binding energies and HOMO-LUMO gaps.

All-electron periodic G0W0 implementation with numerical atomic orbital basis functions: Algorithm and benchmarks

Xinguo Ren et al.

Summary: An all-electron, periodic G(0)W(0) implementation within the NAO basis framework with a localized variant of RI approximation and optimized auxiliary basis functions significantly reduces computational cost. Systematic convergence tests and benchmark calculations identify default computational parameters for practical purposes. The algorithms developed in this work pave the way for efficient implementations of correlated methods within the NAO framework.
