Water Vapor Transport Properties of Polyurethane Films for Packaging of Respiring Foods

Deniz Turan

Summary: Thermoplastic polyurethane polymers with different chemical compositions were synthesized and tested for their water vapor barrier properties at different relative humidity levels. The results showed that permeability, solubility, and diffusion coefficients increased with increasing relative humidity, indicating an effect of water vapor and polymer interactions on the properties of the films.
