Gender inequality in academia: Problems and solutions for women faculty in STEM

MyNRMN: A national mentoring and networking platform to enhance connectivity and diversity in the biomedical sciences

Summary: The National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) aims to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in the biomedical sciences workforce by providing mentorship to historically underrepresented individuals. To address this, the online platform MyNRMN connects mentors and mentees nationwide, resulting in over 13,500 active members from all 50 states and more than 2100 institutions. Black and Hispanic mentees are well represented on the platform, showcasing its success in promoting diversity and expanding opportunities in biomedical science careers.
