Comprehensive evaluation of the metabolic effects of porcine CRTC3 overexpression on subcutaneous adipocytes with metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses

Jiaqi Liu et al.

Summary: The study revealed that porcine CRTC3 expression is associated with fat deposition in vivo, and overexpression of CRTC3 leads to increased lipid accumulation and gene expression related to mature adipocytes. Metabolomic analysis showed significant changes in lipid, amino acid, and nucleotide metabolites in adipocytes with CRTC3 overexpression, while RNA-seq analysis indicated alterations in genes and pathways involved in adipogenesis, fatty acid metabolism, and glycerophospholipid metabolism. These findings suggest that CRTC3 plays a regulatory role in lipid metabolism and influences lipid accumulation in porcine subcutaneous adipocytes.
