Global fuel moisture content mapping from MODIS

Summary: This study developed a daily FMC product at a global scale and 500 m pixel resolution using MODIS and radiative transfer models, with validation from field measurements and enhanced accuracy through filtering out low quality data. The global FMC product has potential applications in wildfire danger modeling, early prediction, suppression, response, and improving awareness of wildfire risks.
