Summary: In patients with painful bone metastases, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) did not significantly improve pain response. Some patients preferred conventional external beam radiation therapy over SBRT, and about one in five patients starting SBRT treatment was unable to complete it.

Method of computing direction-dependent margins for the development of consensus contouring guidelines

Summary: This study demonstrates a novel method for quantifying CTV margins and interobserver variability in clinician-specified directions. The recommended intraosseous and extraosseous margins were found to be 7.0 mm and 8.0 mm, respectively. The median coefficient of variation quantifying the margin disagreement between experts was 0.59 and 0.48 for intraosseous and extraosseous disease.
