Functionalized Reduced Graphene Oxide as a Versatile Tool for Cancer Therapy

Banendu Sunder Dash et al.

Summary: Nanomedicine using carbon-based nanomaterials, especially reduced graphene oxide (rGO), has shown promising potential in cancer therapy due to its ability to carry drugs and act as a photothermal agent. Functionalized rGO can be designed as multifunctional nanosystems with temperature/pH-dependent drug/gene delivery abilities for multimodal cancer therapy. Additional advantages like high biocompatibility, targeted delivery, and enhanced photothermal effects further enhance the potential of functionalized rGO in cancer treatment.

Fluorescence Study of Riboflavin Interactions with Graphene Dispersed in Bioactive Tannic Acid

Maria Paz San Andres et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that tannic acid is an effective dispersant for graphene in aqueous solutions, and its interaction with riboflavin is influenced by TA concentration, pH, and G/TA weight ratio. The quenching effect on riboflavin fluorescence is stronger with lower G/TA ratios, suggesting TA as the main contributor to the quenching effect. The results indicate TA as a green alternative to conventional surfactants and synthetic polymers for biomolecule determination.
