Guidelines-similarities and dissimilarities: a systematic review of international clinical practice guidelines for pregnancy hypertension

Georgia Scott et al.

Summary: This study reviewed clinical practice guidelines for pregnancy hypertension and found both consistent recommendations and inconsistencies. Consistent recommendations include automated blood pressure measurement, proteinuria testing, key definitions and classifications, and magnesium sulfate treatment. However, there are inconsistencies in the broad definition of preeclampsia, early identification of preeclampsia risk, the value of calcium in prevention, and other aspects.

Placental extracellular vesicles and pre-eclampsia

Jessica Schuster et al.

Summary: Pre-eclampsia is a hypertensive disease of pregnancy with mechanisms centered around abnormal placentation, inadequate spiral-artery remodeling, and deficiency in trophoblast invasion. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are suggested to play a crucial role in pre-eclampsia, potentially influencing immune responses, inflammation, altered angiogenesis, and endothelial dysfunction.
