Preparation and Size Control of Efficient and Safe Nanopesticides by Anodic Aluminum Oxide Templates-Assisted Method

User-safe and efficient chitosan-gated porous carbon nanopesticides and nanoherbicides

Summary: Using carboxylated PCNs to prepare CS-capped PCN (PCN@CS) nanopesticides enables controlled release of pesticides with good fungicidal efficacy. Selecting carboxylated PCNs as PQ nanocarriers inhibits PQ release in the gastrointestinal tract, showing low cytotoxicity and high survival rate. The strong pi-pi interactions between PQ and PCNs almost inhibit PQ release at different pH values, while controlled release is achieved at elevated temperatures to eliminate weeds via the photothermal effect.
