Improved H2 detection performance of GaN sensor with Pt/Sulfide treatment of porous active layer prepared by metal electroless etching

Summary: High-performance chemiresistor gas sensor made of sulfide porous GaN decorated with Pt nanoparticles shows tunable sensor response and enhanced sensitivity for detecting H-2. Density functional theory simulations support the detection mechanism based on sulfide treatment, with adsorption energy calculations demonstrating reduced H adsorption energy by the presence of S and Pt. The possibility of bond strengthening is revealed by density of states calculations when Pt and S are adsorbed on GaN surface along with H.

Gas-sensing selectivity of n-ZnO/p-Co3O4 sensors for homogeneous reducing gas

Summary: This study prepared a series of n-ZnO/p-xCo(3)O(4) NPs and found that the Zn:Co molar ratio influenced the gas-sensing selectivity. The results indicated that n-ZnO/p-0.61Co(3)O(4) NPs, formed with a p-n heterojunction, hold promise in addressing the issue of poor selectivity in MOS-based gas sensors.

Selective gas detection of H2 and CO by a single MOX-sensor

Summary: This study explored the selective analysis of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and their mixtures in air using a SnO2-based metal oxide sensor with the addition of PdOx. By employing a single MOX sensor, quantitative and qualitative analysis of gases were conducted with a focus on a small number of training sample concentrations. The effect of air humidity on the accuracy of gas concentration determination was also investigated, and PCA regression analysis algorithms were used to reduce multidimensional data. Temperature modulation of the SnO2 sensor with PdOx led to a significant increase in sensor responses for gas concentrations ranging from 10 to 100 ppm compared to the stationary temperature regime.

Flower-like Co3O4 sensor with rich oxygen vacancy defects for enhancing room temperature NOx sensing performances

Summary: Flower-like Co3O4 microspheres composed of thin nanosheets were successfully synthesized, showing high gas sensitivity with a response of 72.3% to 100 ppm NOx and a detection limit lower than 70 ppb. The outstanding performance can be attributed to its unique structure and surface oxygen vacancies.

A high-response formaldehyde sensor based on fibrous Ag-ZnO/In2O3 with multi-level heterojunctions

Summary: A high-response formaldehyde gas sensor based on Ag-ZnO/In2O3 nanofibers was successfully fabricated, showing superior sensitivity, selectivity and stability, with an ultra-high response value towards formaldehyde. The low detection limit of the sensor can be mainly attributed to the proper design of multi-level heterojunctions, which significantly enhance the sensing performance.

Specific carbon nanomaterials have excellent water-resistance properties that significantly improve the long-term stability of PSCs by preventing moisture ingress.
