Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity of CuWO4 Doped TiO2 Photocatalyst Towards Carbamazepine Removal under UV Irradiation

Chukwuka Bethel Anucha et al.

Summary: In this study, a 0.05 wt.% CuWO4 over TiO2 composite powder was prepared for photocatalytic degradation of contaminants, achieving almost 100% degradation of carbamazepine (CBZ) after 2 hours of irradiation. Structural and morphological characterization of the synthesized material was conducted using various techniques, and the influences of pH, chemical scavengers, H2O2, contaminant ions, and humic acid on the photocatalyst efficiency towards CBZ degradation were investigated.
