Combustion system optimization for dimethyl ether using a genetic algorithm

Marius Zubel et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of nozzle diameter on dimethyl ether combustion, and the results from experiments and simulations showed that optimizing nozzle and piston bowl design can improve efficiency and reduce emissions. The combustion characteristics of dimethyl ether are closely related to the nozzle diameter, with small diameters favoring lean combustion and large diameters favoring rich combustion.
