Synthesis of a novel nanocomposite containing chitosan as a three-dimensional printed wound dressing technique: Emphasis on gene expression

Summary: In this study, a highly porous three-dimensional (3D)-printed wound healing core/shell scaffold composed of PLA, HA, Cu-CDs, rosmarinic acid, and chitosan hydrogel was fabricated. Cu-CDs exhibited excellent antibacterial activity at 1 mg ml(-1) concentration and good biocompatibility at 0.25 mg ml(-1) concentration. Wound healing experiments on rats showed that the composite scaffold significantly improved the wound healing process compared to the PLA scaffold.

Preparation of pH-sensitive chitosan/polyvinylpyrrolidone/alpha-Fe2O3 nanocomposite for drug delivery application: Emphasis on ameliorating restrictions

Summary: In this study, nanocomposites of hematite/chitosan/polyvinylpyrrolidone were synthesized as a drug carrier for doxorubicin, exhibiting pH-sensitive and controlled release properties. The chemical and physical interactions within the nanocomposites were confirmed through analyses, and they demonstrated good cytotoxicity and anticancer effects in cell experiments.

The nanocomposite showed pH-responsive release of quercetin with prolonged-release over 96 hours, and exhibited significant cytotoxicity on MCF-7 cells, making it a potential candidate for biomedical applications.
