Tunable electrochemical of electrosynthesized layer-by-layer multilayer films based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes and metal-organic framework as high-performance electrochemical sensor for simultaneous determination cadmium and lead

Zhiwei Lu et al.

Summary: An effective strategy for the fabrication of novel layer-by-layer multilayer films modified electrodes in electrochemical sensor applications is proposed in this work. The newly constructed three-layer assembly of MWCNTs-COOH/UiO-66-NH2/MWCNTs-COOH/GCE as voltammetric sensor was adapted to simultaneous detection of Cd2+ and Pb2+. The combination of abundant adsorption sites of UiO-66-NH2 with excellent conductivity ability of MWCNTs-COOH, and the dominant characteristics of the chelation mechanisms between amine groups and heavy metal cations, strengthened its electrocatalytic activity.

Novel Three-dimensional Sensor for Rapid Detection of Pb(II) and Cd(II) in Edible Mushrooms

Jiaqi Yin et al.

Summary: The sensing platform based on MoS2-RGO was developed for the detection of heavy metal ions in edible mushrooms. The synthesized MoS2-RGO had active sites that contributed to the adsorption and preconcentration of the metal ions. The modified sensors showed low limits of detection for Pb(II) and Cd(II) and were successfully applied in the detection of heavy metal ions in edible mushrooms.

Controlling assembly-induced single layer RGO to achieve highly sensitive electrochemical detection of Pb(II) via synergistic enhancement

Peng Sun et al.

Summary: This study focused on the preparation of a single-layer nanocomposite electrode material through controlled assembly, which effectively addressed the issue of low electron transfer in electroanalysis. By utilizing the synergistic enhancement of RhB and RGO, the high sensitivity of RhB/RGO in Pb2+ trace analysis was achieved, with a detection limit of 10 nM and a linear correlation coefficient of 0.9999. The research also provided insights into the competitive relationship between active binding sites and electron transfer resistance (Rct) in the detection of Pb2+, offering valuable guidance for future electrode material design.

Improving the stability of Pb2+ ion-selective electrodes by using 3D polyaniline nanowire arrays as the inner solid-contact transducer

Xianghua Zeng et al.

Summary: Polyaniline nanowire arrays (PANI-NWA) were successfully synthesized and applied as the ion-to-electron transducer for the detection of aqueous Pb2+ ions. They exhibited high capacitance and low impedance, facilitating efficient ion-to-electron transfer. The three-dimensional PANI-NWA also improved detection efficiency by allowing easy penetration of Pb2+ ions and enhancing the stability of the ion selective electrodes.

Zn/Fe nanocomposite based efficient electrochemical sensor for the simultaneous detection of metal ions

Esraa M. Bakhsh et al.

Summary: An efficient electrochemical sensor was designed using zinc oxide doped iron oxide nanocomposite coated on a glassy carbon electrode for simultaneous detection of Cd(II), Pb(II), and Cu(II) in real water samples. The sensor exhibited strong sensing performance with higher sensitivity towards Pb(II) detection, making it a promising tool for low-level determination of toxic heavy metals. Further optimization of analytical parameters was conducted to investigate the detection of Cd(II), Pb(II), and Cu(II) in real samples, showing the potential for a simple and efficient sensing system.
