The successfully synthesised β-CD-MOF-1 has shown potential in detecting organic compounds, such as Nitrobenzene, and outperforms β-cyclodextrin in aqueous medium for sensing VOCs, demonstrating its excellent sensing capabilities. Various analytical techniques were used to validate the synthesis and performance of β-CD-MOF-1 as an optical sensing probe.
(C42O35H70)(2)(NaOH)(4)center dot H2O (beta-CD-MOF-1) has been successfully synthesised in CH3OH/H2O solvent using beta-CD (beta-cyclodextrin) and Na2C2O4 (Sodium oxalate). The Powder X-Ray Diffraction (PXRD), Scanning electron Microscopy (SEM), Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), Ultraviolet Visible (UV-VIS), and Photoluminescence (PL) Spectroscopy analysis have been used to validate the analysis of synthesised beta-CD-MOF-1. beta-CD-MOF-1 prove its feasibility in linear range to be utilised as optical sensing probe for voltaic organic compounds (VOCs) i.e., Nitrobenzene (NB). A comparative study has been performed between beta-CD-MOF-1 and beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) to detect VOCs. And we found out that beta-CD-MOF-1 can be used as excellent potent sensing material for VOCs sensing in an aqueous medium.
