Pentacyclic Nano-Trefoil

Huiyeong Ju et al.

Summary: The tetra-armed cyclen compound bearing specific groups was prepared and characterized along with its Ag+ complexes. These complexes were found to undergo reversible structural transformations between different ratios of Ag+ / 1, and could selectively encapsulate benzene and [D6]benzene in the solid-state. The stability of the benzene-included structures was attributed to C-H···F-C interactions between the benzene molecule and the ligand molecule.

Peptide-Based Photocathodic Biosensors: Integrating a Recognition Peptide with an Antifouling Peptide

Shiting Gu et al.

Summary: An advanced peptide-based photocathodic biosensor integrating a recognition peptide with an antifouling peptide in one probe electrode was developed for accurate detection in complex biological matrixes. This biosensor demonstrated excellent anti-interference to nonspecific proteins and reducing agents due to the antifouling peptide, and showed good sensitivity utilizing the recognition peptide. This peptide-integrated method provides a new perspective for practical applications of photocathodic biosensors.

Mole-Ratio-Dependent Reversible Transformation between 2:2 and Cyclic 3:6 Silver(I) Complexes with an Argentivorous Molecule

Huiyeong Ju et al.

Summary: A tetra-armed cyclen compound (L) was synthesized with various substituents, leading to the formation of a 2:2 cyclic dimer and a 3:6 cyclic trimer upon reaction with silver(I). The reversible complexation between these two structures was confirmed by H-1 NMR and CSI mass analysis.

meso-Substitution Activates Oxoiron(IV) Porphyrin π-Cation Radical Complex More Than Pyrrole-β-Substitution for Atom Transfer Reaction

Nami Fukui et al.

Summary: The study compared the reactivity of meso-tetramesitylporphyrin and 2,7,12,17-tetramethyl-3,8,13,18-tetramesitylporphyrin for different reactions, revealing that the former is more reactive under non-sterically bulky substrate conditions, but the reactivity becomes similar when the substrate becomes sterically hindered. Density functional theory calculations showed differences in the orbital energies of the Fe=O moiety between the two porphyrins.

Nitrile-containing copper(ii) porphyrin coordination complexes for efficient anticancer activity and mechanism research

Qian Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, three novel water-soluble copper (II) porphyrin complexes were synthesized and their relationship between structure and anticancer performance was investigated. The complexes demonstrated effective anticancer activity and biocompatibility against various cancer cells, with para-nitrile functionalized complex p-CuP showing the best performance. The water-soluble porphyrin ligands' anticancer effects were enhanced by coordination with copper ion (II).
