A novel two-dimensional micelle system is utilized to achieve a well-ordered mesophase with a lower amount of organic template compared to conventional methods, providing a general approach for developing hydrothermally stable MAs with high efficiency and low cost.
Obtaining hydrothermally stable mesoporous aluminosilicates (MAs) by assembly of zeolite Y precursors is promising for catalytic cracking of heavy oil molecules, but current technology suffers from a large assumption of organic template P123. To solve these issues, a novel two-dimensional micelle system is employed that is realized by the integration and separation hydrophobic PPG with P123 micelles. As compared with the conventional synthetic procedure, well-ordered mesophase could be obtained with only 44% amount of organic template P123. This hydrophobic polymer route builts up a general approach for developing hydrothermally stable MAs with high efficiency and low cost.
