A new type of dual-scale neighborhood based on vectorization for cellular automata models

Bin Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new dual-scale neighborhood (DSN) combined with vectorization to address the contradiction in the selection of neighborhood size in cellular automata (CA) models. Experimental results show that DSN can improve simulation accuracy and computational efficiency.

Large-scale rice mapping under different years based on time-series Sentinel-1 images using deep semantic segmentation model

Pengliang Wei et al.

Summary: This study uses deep learning techniques combined with remote sensing imagery to formulate rice mapping as a semantic segmentation task, successfully identifying rice distribution in large scales. Experimental results demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed method in rice extraction, benefiting from spatial characteristics and phenological similarity. The study further validates the advantages of temporal generalization in large-scale, indicating that the differences in rice between different years are smaller than those between different spaces.
