A novel displacement prediction method using gated recurrent unit model with time series analysis in the Erdaohe landslide

Yong-gang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study introduces a dynamic method for landslide displacement prediction based on GRU model and time series analysis, successfully applied to the Erdaohe landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir area. The results demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately predict landslide displacement, with higher accuracy compared to the SVM model.

Study on seepage and deformation characteristics of coal microstructure by 3D reconstruction of CT images at high temperatures

Gang Wang et al.

Summary: The study on coal at high temperatures revealed a positive correlation between porosity and fractal dimension, with connectivity and seepage performances being roughly identical. As porosity increased, the fractal dimension of coal samples increased, resulting in decreased permeability.

The adoption of ELM to the prediction of soil liquefaction based on CPT

Yong-gang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study established a soil liquefaction prediction model using extreme learning machine (ELM) trained with cone penetration test (CPT) data, which improved the prediction accuracy. Experimental results showed that using the sin function achieved higher prediction accuracy, demonstrating the applicability and feasibility of the ELM model.

Research on displacement prediction of step-type landslide under the influence of various environmental factors based on intelligent WCA-ELM in the Three Gorges Reservoir area

Yong-gang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study combines the water cycle algorithm and extreme learning machine to improve the prediction accuracy of step-wise landslides, determining the main influencing factors using gray relational grade analysis and using them as input items for the model. The results show that the model has a faster convergence rate and higher prediction accuracy compared to traditional back-propagation neural network and ELM models.

Experimental study on the effects of pre-cracks, fracturing fluid, and rock mechanical characteristics on directional hydraulic fracturing with axial pre-cracks

Zhenghe Liu et al.

Summary: The study shows that the inclination angle of pre-cracks affects the fracture initiation pressure and extension length, while a longer pre-crack length reduces the fracture initiation pressure. Additionally, increasing fracturing fluid viscosity significantly increases the crack extension length.

The adoption of deep neural network (DNN) to the prediction of soil liquefaction based on shear wave velocity

Yonggang Zhang et al.

Summary: Soil liquefaction is recognized as a significant factor in causing natural disasters and engineering failures. The study introduces a multi-layer fully connected network (ML-FCN) to optimize deep neural networks (DNN) for predicting liquefaction potential based on Vs and SPT datasets, demonstrating higher accuracy compared to existing models through dataset training.

Study of mixed mode I/II cohesive zone models of different rank coals

Jianfeng Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the PPR model for mixed mode I/II fractures in different rank coals using DC(T) and PTS tests. Results showed that with higher coal rank, initial shear stiffness and peak loads increase, and maximum tangential crack opening displacement decreases. Additionally, the shear crack surface is rougher and more tortuous, and mode II fracture energy decreases with higher coal rank. The PPR CZM model was able to accurately describe the size effect of mixed mode I/II fractures in coals.
