Construction of multifunctional dual Z-scheme composites with enhanced photocatalytic activities for degradation of ciprofloxacin

Improved photocatalytic degradation and reduction performance of Bi2O3 by the decoration of AuPt alloy nanoparticles

Summary: In this study, AuPt alloy nanoparticles were attached onto Bi2O3 particles to form AuPt/Bi2O3 composite, which exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity compared to bare Bi2O3, Au, and Pt-decorated Bi2O3. The presence of AuPt bimetallic alloy and their homogeneous distribution on the Bi2O3 surface were confirmed through XPS characterization and HRTEM observation. The composite also demonstrated stable photocatalytic performance and effective separation of photoinduced charge carriers.

Tert-butylamine/oleic acid-assisted morphology tailoring of hierarchical Bi4Ti3O12 architectures and their application for photodegradation of simulated dye wastewater

Summary: This study reports the morphology tailoring of hierarchical Bi4Ti3O12 architectures using tert-butylamine (TB) and oleic acid (OA), revealing the significant influence of TB and OA content on the resulting morphologies. Photodegradation experiments showed that the nanosheet-assembled hierarchical microrods exhibited superior activity in degrading dye wastewater. Interestingly, the photodegradation process of mixed dye solutions differed from that of individual dye solutions, indicating a complex photodegradation mechanism of Bi4Ti3O12 photocatalysts.
