Radiation interception and radiation use efficiency in mixtures of winter cover crops

Summary: The study showed that the performance of cover crop mixtures was largely determined by the dominant species within the mixture, which in turn greatly influenced the radiation use efficiency of the mixture as a whole. Results emphasized the importance of including one or more productive species in cover crop mixtures, such as oats or crucifers, for optimal performance.
