On the nature of near-threshold bound and virtual states

Inka Matuschek et al.

Summary: The method of uniquely characterizing physical states by their pole positions and residues is extended to shallow virtual states classification. It is argued that mainly non-molecular or compact states exist as bound states or resonances, but not as virtual states. The limitations of the mentioned classification scheme are also discussed.

Explaining the Many Threshold Structures in the Heavy-Quark Hadron Spectrum

Xiang-Kun Dong et al.

Summary: Significant progress has been made experimentally in the hadron spectrum containing heavy quarks in the last two decades, with many resonant structures observed around thresholds of heavy hadrons. By constructing a nonrelativistic effective field theory with open channels, the authors discuss the generalities of threshold behavior and explain the abundance of near-threshold peaks in the heavy quarkonium regime, emphasizing that the threshold cusp can show up as a peak only for channels with attractive interaction.

A review on partial-wave dynamics with chiral effective field theory and dispersion relation

De-Liang Yao et al.

Summary: The combination of chiral effective field theories and partial wave dynamics has been crucial in studying the strong interaction physics of low-lying resonances, providing important insights into the non-perturbative regime. Recent progress in this area, with emphasis on pi pi, pi K, pi N and (K) over barN scatterings, has been summarized in this review.

Application of the uniformized Mittag-Leffler expansion to Λ(1405)

Wren A. Yamada et al.

Summary: In this study, the pole properties of Lambda(1405) were investigated using the uniformized Mittag-Leffler expansion in a model-independent manner. The method was found to be powerful and simple in determining resonance energy, width, and residues from near-threshold spectra.

Investigation of qqqs(q)over-bar pentaquarks in a chiral quark model

Liting Qin et al.

Summary: In this study, the pentaquark system qqqs (q) over bar is investigated within the framework of chiral quark model. Various resonance states with different quantum numbers are predicted, and some states are proposed to explain specific particles. However, most resonance states generally exhibit a large width.
