Transmission of Oscillatory Volumes into the Preterm Lung during Noninvasive High-Frequency Ventilation

Summary: This study found that oscillatory volumes during noninvasive high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (nHFOV) can effectively be transmitted to the lungs in preterm infants. The oscillations were more likely to reach the right lung and non-gravity-dependent areas compared to spontaneous tidal breaths, providing insight into the physiological processes of nHFOV and potential for further refinement of this technique.
