An escalating treatment strategy for children with severe chronic immune thrombocytopenia: Preliminary report from a single center

Lingling Fu et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the effects of escalating treatment strategy in children with severe chronic immune thrombocytopenia (SCITP), showing that this approach can effectively improve the condition, with a remission rate of 36.7% and a sustained response rate of 68.2%. 30% of patients benefited and maintained sustained response from high-dose dexamethasone treatment. Combined treatment with eltrombopag can reduce the relapse rate of low-dose rituximab.
