Trajectories of decline on instrumental activities of daily living prior to dementia in persons with mild cognitive impairment

Simon Cloutier et al.

Summary: The study found that individuals with MCI who progressed towards dementia showed years of stable performance followed by accelerated decline just before diagnosis, while those who remained stable showed no change, and decliners exhibited a gradual linear decline. Therefore, assessing instrumental activities of daily living in MCI individuals is crucial for predicting dementia progression.
