Academically Produced Air Pollution Sensors for Personal Exposure Assessment: The Canarin Project

Boris Dessimond et al.

Summary: This paper introduces portable sensors produced by the Canarin Project, providing real-time personal exposure data. The results demonstrate the use of portable sensors to assess personal exposure in different environments, as well as to inspect the short-term effects of air pollution, such as sleep apnea. This underscores the importance of obtaining contextual data for determining environmental exposure and provides insights for the future development of air pollution sensors for medical research.

Air quality and synergistic health effects of ozone and nitrogen oxides in response to China's integrated air quality control policies during 2015-2019

Xuguo Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that although the NOx titration effect triggered an increase in O-3, the combined health effects of the two pollutants improved in most regions of China. Short-term measures led to significant health benefits for Shenzhen and Hong Kong, while sectoral emission controls showed considerable health improvement for major cities in the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone. Joint national control efforts helped keep health risks below the safety line in China.
