Summary: Experimental investigation showed significant enhancement in productivity of single-basin dual-slope solar still with the addition of nanoparticles, particularly copper oxide nanoparticles outperformed aluminum oxide nanoparticles.Producing the distilled output was observed higher with the consumption of CuO nanoparticles compared to Al2O3 nanoparticles, especially for varying water depths in basin and different glass cover orientations.

Experimental investigation of single-basin solar still using solid staggered fins inserted in paraffin wax PCM bed for enhancing productivity

Summary: The research found that the single-basin solar still with solid staggered pin finned absorber inserted into paraffin wax bed showed higher productivity and increased thermal efficiency at a seawater depth of 2 cm. Economic and environmental analysis revealed that the modified solar still had lower cost per liter of potable water produced and generated higher carbon credits compared to conventional solar still.
