Oxidative desulfurization of refinery diesel pool fractions using LaVO4 photocatalyst

Iqrash Shafiq et al.

Summary: Oxidative desulfurization (ODS) is an effective method for removing organosulfur compounds at mild conditions without the need for costly hydrogen. In this study, a pure LaVO4 photocatalyst was prepared and found to exhibit excellent visible-light-driven deep oxidative desulfurization performance. The photocatalyst showed great potential for desulfurization of various petroleum refinery diesel pool fractions, with a possible mechanism proposed and recyclability discussed.
