Do renewable energy and globalization enhance ecological footprint: an analysis of top renewable energy countries?

Mohd Arshad Ansari et al.

Summary: This study estimates the dynamic impact of renewable and non-renewable energy consumption, globalization, urbanization, and economic growth on environmental quality. It finds a positive impact of economic growth and non-renewable energy consumption on ecological footprint, while a negative impact is observed with renewable energy consumption, globalization, and urbanization. Based on empirical findings, some policy implications have been provided.

The implications of renewable and non-renewable energy generating in Sub-Saharan Africa: The role of economic policy uncertainties

Festus Fatai Adedoyin et al.

Summary: Sub-Saharan Africa has experienced significant economic expansion in the last decade, with an increase in real GDP and non-renewable energy generation leading to higher CO2 emissions. However, economic policy uncertainty in the region also plays a role in driving emissions, but moderates the impact of energy generation to reduce emissions levels. This highlights the importance of implementing sound macroeconomic and energy policies in the region to mitigate environmental degradation.
