Summary: The increase in human population and industrial waste discharge has had a significant impact on coastal areas, particularly on crabs with limited mobility in benthic regions. Research has shown that although trace metal levels in warty crab meats are below acceptable limits, excessive consumption may lead to metal toxicity according to potential health risk analyses.
