Summary: The study focused on the soil potentially toxic elements (PTE) contents in the Armavir region of Armenia. Two clusters were identified, one with PTE of natural origin on volcanic rocks and one with PTE introduced by human activities on alluvial, deluvial, and proluvial sediments. The results indicated higher health risks for specific elements in each cluster.

Human health risk assessment for toxic elements in the extreme ambient dust conditions observed in Sistan, Iran

Summary: This study evaluated the bioaccessibility and health risks related to heavy metals and metalloid in airborne dust samples in Zabol, Iran. The results showed high carcinogenic risks associated with inhalation exposure for both children and adults, as well as elevated risks for ingestion and dermal contact pathways, particularly for children. The study highlights the significant health risks posed by toxic elements in airborne particles in Sistan and suggests the need for measures to reduce exposure and protect public health.

An integrated approach for spatial distribution of potentially toxic elements (Cu, Pb and Zn) in topsoil

Summary: In this study, statistical analysis and spatial distribution were used to compare raw data and clr transformed data of three potentially toxic elements (Cu, Pb, and Zn) in 550 surface soil samples in Khuzestan plain. The results showed that raw data and clr transformed data had different spatial distributions, with the former showing anthropogenic effects and requiring additional evaluation of human health risks. The study also highlighted the role of geological processes in the distribution of PTEs.
