Anomalously enhanced thermal performance of carbon-nanotubes coated micro heat pipes

Edmund Chong Jie Ng et al.

Summary: The study shows that the incorporation of CNTs coatings improves the thermal performance of micro heat pipe arrays by enhancing evaporation at the evaporator section and fluid circulation efficiency, resulting in increased heat transfer coefficient and thermal conductivity. The fast water permeation property of CNTs nanostructures plays a key role in this anomalous thermal enhancement.

Thermal performance enhancement and optimization of two-phase closed thermosyphon with graphene-nanoplatelets coatings

Summary: The study shows that coating graphene-nanoplatelets (GNPs) with different wettability can enhance phase-change heat transfer in a two-phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT). The superhydrophilic GNPs facilitate water film evaporation, achieving a maximum enhancement of 96.2%, while uncured hydrophobic GNPs-coating is beneficial for the condensation process with a 20.6% enhancement.
