Control and Impact of Metal Loading Heterogeneities at the Nanoscale on the Performance of Pt/Zeolite Y Catalysts for Alkane Hydroconversion

Lars van der Wal et al.

Summary: This study investigated the preparation of zeolite-based bifunctional catalysts with low noble metal loadings, maintaining optimal performance. It was found that Pt loaded using PTA exhibited consistent catalytic performance at low global Pt loadings, while Pt loaded using CPA had detrimental effects on hydroisomerization. The differences were attributed to variations in Pt loading per zeolite Y crystal caused by the different interactions of metal precursors with the zeolite.

Fluorene hydrocracking over bifunctional platinum catalysts in a high-pressure simultaneous thermal analyzer

Jose-Mateo Martinez-Saavedra et al.

Summary: The hydrogenation of Fluorene was studied under high-pressure conditions, showing different temperature requirements for aromatic ring hydrogenation on different zeolite carriers; hydrogenation of the two aromatic rings occurred on zeolites before isomerization and cracking began; there was a correlation between the lower Si/Al ratio of zeolites and the lower peak temperature of the hydrocracking reaction.
