Network analysis of the food-energy-water nexus in China's Yangtze River Economic Belt from a synergetic perspective

Rihui An et al.

Summary: This study explores the food-energy-water (FEW) nexus in China's Yangtze River Economic Belt using network analysis, revealing that the energy subsystem has the highest centralities and dominates the FEW nexus. It also identifies the impact of time variability and spatial sensitivity on this nexus.

Identifying the effect of forecast uncertainties on hybrid power system operation: A case study of Longyangxia hydro-photovoltaic plant in China

Yu Gong et al.

Summary: This study aims to quantify the effect of forecast uncertainties on the hybrid hydro-photovoltaic system operation. Results show that long-term inflow forecast uncertainty has the greatest contribution to long-term release uncertainty, and it still dominates short-term release uncertainty.

Reservoir ecological operation by quantifying outflow disturbance to aquatic community dynamics

Yibo Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that the population densities of stable states in multi-population systems showed continuous downward trends with increasing degree of hydrological alteration, leading to potential destruction of aquatic community systems. The greater the degree of hydrological alteration, the longer the recovery time from an unstable to a stable state, and the weaker the resistance for each population system. By optimizing reservoir outflow, the resilience and resistance of downstream multi-population systems were enhanced.
