Electrochemical Aptasensors for Biological and Chemical Analyte Detection

Seda Nur Topkaya et al.

Summary: Aptamers are short, single-stranded DNA or RNA molecules with high sensitivity to interact with various targets, such as biomarkers, cells, biological molecules, drugs or chemicals. They offer advantages over antibodies in terms of easier preparation and modification, higher stability, lower variability and cost. Aptamers can be easily integrated with sensors, biosensors, actuators, and other devices for improved detection capabilities in medical applications.

Facile Green Synthesis of NiO/NiCo2O4 Nanocomposite as an Efficient Electrochemical Platform for Determination of Dopamine

Mahnaz Amiri et al.

Summary: In this study, NiO/NiCo2O4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using an eco-friendly, fast, simple, and cost-effective approach with Urtica extract for dopamine detection. The electrochemical behavior of dopamine at NiO/NiCo2O4/CPE was investigated, showing good reproducibility, sensitivity, and stability, with a low detection limit of 0.04 μM in the concentration range of 0.1-100.0 μM. The suggested sensor demonstrated satisfactory selectivity for dopamine determination in drug and biological samples, even in the presence of interfering substances like uric acid and ascorbic acid.
